SMA SERIES- SubMinature version A Coaxial Connector
 
1. Developed in 1960, it is a minimal connector with a screw-type coupling mechanism.
 
2. The terms male and female refer to the inner pin (male) and the socket (female), the outer portion of the connector, or male part, has interior threads and an inner pin. The male SMA connector is identified by its hex-shaped body.
 
3. SMA connectors are intended for use on semi-rigid cables that take the cable dielectric directly to the interface without air gaps.
 
4. It offers electrical performance from DC to 18 GHz.
