Developed in the 1960's, the SMB connector is a smaller version of the SMA connector with snap-on coupling mechanism. |

The connector utilizes an inner contact and overlapping dielectric insulator structures to ensure good connectivity and a constant impedance. |

It is specified in tow impedances, namely 50 and 75 ohms. The 50 ohm version of the SMB connector is
" generally specified up to 4 GHz, but the 75 ohm versions one is normally only specified to 2 GHz." |
